These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the FamilyWeave application and related services (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms.
1. Accounts & Eligibility
- You must be legally able to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction to maintain an account.
- You are responsible for safeguarding your authentication credentials and any activity under your account.
- You may create and manage profiles for family members (including minors) provided you have the right to do so.
2. Acceptable Use
- No unlawful, infringing, harassing, discriminatory, or abusive content.
- No automated scraping, reverse engineering, or disruptive technical activity.
- No uploading of malware or attempting to gain unauthorized access.
3. Your Content
You retain ownership of the content you submit (journal entries, tags, family relationships, media). You grant us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, process, and display that content solely to operate and improve the Service, enforce policies, and comply with legal obligations.
4. Visibility & Sharing
Journal entries are never public. Visibility is constrained to the family scopes you select (immediate or extended). Changing relationship data can impact who is able to access historical entries consistent with those scopes.
5. Service Changes
We may evolve, suspend, or discontinue parts of the Service. When practical, material changes that significantly impact core functionality will be communicated in advance.
6. Paid Features
Certain advanced or premium features (e.g., expanded storage, custom groups) may require a subscription or one-time fee. Billing terms (pricing, renewal, cancellation, and refunds) will be presented at point of purchase and form part of these Terms.
7. Feedback
Voluntary suggestions or feedback you provide may be used without obligation or compensation to you; you grant a perpetual, irrevocable license for such use.
8. Third-Party Services
The Service may integrate third-party authentication, storage, or payment providers. Their separate terms and privacy policies govern their handling of your data.
9. Termination
You may request account deletion at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms, attempts to compromise security, or legal compliance reasons. Certain residual data (e.g., logs) may persist for fraud prevention or legal obligations before deletion.
10. Disclaimers
The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, express or implied (including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement). We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event will we be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, or loss of data, goodwill, or profits. Our aggregate liability for any claim related to the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) amounts you paid in the 6 months preceding the claim, or (b) USD $25.
12. Indemnity
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless FamilyWeave and its operators from claims arising out of your misuse of the Service or violation of these Terms.
13. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance. Material changes may require renewed consent where required by law.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by applicable laws of the primary operating jurisdiction of the Service (without regard to conflict of law rules). Local mandatory consumer protections still apply.
